Patricia "Pat" A. Hart, 78, of Topsham, VT, peacefully passed away at home on July 3, 2025, following a more than 10-year battle with Alzheimer's disease. Pat was born to Duane and Angeline Stender on May 2, 1947, in Hanover, NH.  She graduated from South Royalton High School in 1965.  On June 11, 1966, she married James E. Hart.

Pat worked for Berg, Carmolli and Kent Insurance company in Barre VT for several years and then worked for Vermont Mutual Insurance company in Montpelier, VT for many more years before retiring. For many years Pat and Jim would winter in Florida until their family grew, and they decided to remain in Vermont full time.  Pat enjoyed baking, crafting, sewing, shopping, traveling with friends and family, along with riding with Jim in their John Deere Gator, and listening to Irish singer Daniel O'Donnell, she also enjoyed spending time with her loving family.  Her favorite holiday was Christmas, which she enjoyed hosting each year.

Pat was predeceased by her parents and brother Roger Barrows.  Survivors include her husband of 59 years, James Hart of Topsham, VT; beloved Shih Tzu Brandy; son Bryan and his wife Deb of Topsham, VT; brother Dennis Stender and companion Cyndi of Sharon, VT; sister in-law Carol Barrows of Daytona, FL; three granddaughter's she adored, Meghan Flanagan and husband Jay of Charlotte, NC, Madison Hart of Topsham, VT, Mackenzie Hart of Woodsville, NH, two step grandchildren Hunter Bingham of Chelsea, VT, and Jenna Bingham of Haverhill, NH; step great-grandson, Owen Farnham of Haverhill, NH (Pat always called Owen her "little boyfriend!" and she loved sharing her lemon Oreo's with him).  Pat also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be on Friday July 11,2025, 10:00 a.m. at the Groton Village Cemetery, Cemetery Rd, Groton, VT.  Following Pat's service there will be a gathering on Skyline Drive (off of Hart's Rd), Topsham, VT for refreshments and snacks.
