Obituary

Groton, VT Patricia Ann (Poor) Hatch, 67, was whisked away by angels on Thursday, June 14, 2012. Her husband of 46 years and her immediate family were fortunate enough to be by her side to tell her what a wonderful wife and mother she was. We will always be grateful for that opportunity. No matter what, Pat was always the constant source of support for her family. When the chaplain asked what we loved most about Pat, a unanimous theme was heard. We most admired her strength, support and humor. Pat loved Elvis, crocheting, polar bears, NASCAR, and spending time with her family. She could often be seen cheering on her grandkids on a ball field or from the basketball bleachers. Many fond memories of spaghetti and meatloaf dinners help sustain us today. The sound of her laughter and good natured ribbing will forever ring in our ears. Pat set the example of what a nurturing mother and supportive wife should be. We love and will miss her always. Pat is predeceased by her father Harry Poor, her mother Shirley (Lyndes) Poor, her brother John Poor and his wife Harriet Poor and her sister Marie Poor. Throughout her life she also lost brother and sisters-in-law; Sylvia and Merle Williams, Douglas Hatch, and James Bourgeois. Pat is survived by her husband of 46 years, Roger Hatch, her son Darryl Hatch and his wife Karmen, her daughter Rose Bean and husband Andrew and her best friend and youngest daughter Julie Rood and her husband Rodney. She leaves behind all of her grandchildren whom she adored: Keith, C.J., Julie, Kane, Kelsey, Brendan, Victoria, Ashley and of course Jordan. Pat will forever be in the hearts of her many brother and sisters-in law; Harvey and Rose Hatch, Herbert and Rudene Hatch, Linda Bourgeois and Leo Hatch. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A graveside service will be held at the Groton Village Cemetery, Scott Highway, Groton, VT on Monday, June 18, 2012 at 1 PM with Pastor Candace Ricker officiating. All are welcome to come share their memories of Pat. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Heart Association, Founders Affiliate, PO Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241 or to the American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress Street Fifth Floor, Boston, MA 02210.
