Newbury, VT Paul Alfred Remond, 91, of Fish Pond Road, died on Thursday, February 26, 2009, at the Cottage Hospital in Woodsville, NH. He was born in Newton, MA, May 18, 1917, the son of Louis and Lena (Antenen) Remond. Paul was married to Ebon Gloria Swenson on June 3, 1945. He was an electrical engineer draftsman for many years with the Raytheon Corporation in Massachusetts, retiring in 1982. He was on a development team during World War II for the early development of the radar system and for microwave ovens. Following retirement they moved from Harvard, MA to Newbury. He was a member of the Woodsville Senior Bowling League. He has also enjoyed senior meals and activities at the Horse Meadow Senior Center in North Haverhill. Paul has enjoyed reading, stamp collecting, and H. O. model trains. With his wife Ebon, he spent countless hours driving the back roads of Vermont, enjoying the picturesque scenery, farms, and mountains. He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Ebon G. Remond on May 16, 2004. Survivors include his son, Geoffrey P. Remond of Newbury, VT; his daughter, Ebon L. McCullough of New Ipswich, NH; 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. At Paul s request there will be no calling hours or services.
