Obituary

Bradford, VT- Pauline Marie Clark, 86, of Kenyon Road, died on Monday, June 3, 2013, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, NH. Pauline was born in Topsham, VT on January 13, 1927, to Clayton and Elva (Darling) Ordway. She was a graduate of the Bradford Academy s Class of 1945. On June 20, 1945, she married William A. Clark. She began her working career as a bookkeeper for Whiting s Dairy in Bradford. Pauline and William farmed together in Fairlee, VT from 1950-1962. Then they operated Clark s Store on Route 25C in Bradford from 1962-1978. Following that, Pauline was a bookkeeper for Martin Carrier Building Contractors, also of Bradford. Pauline was a member of the East Corinth Congregational Church where she was the organist for several years. She loved babysitting her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing board games, such as Dominoes, Yahtzee, and Skipbo, and watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, with her family. When taking walks, she loved the surrounding nature and would identify trees, flowers, and birds. She would also pick up unusually colored or shaped rocks for her collection. She could fix anything from plumbing issues to electrical problems. Pauline was determined that her family would be well-educated. She was predeceased by her husband, William Clark on September 1, 2000. She is survived by four daughters, Linda E. Welch of Bradford, Janice M. Lawyer and husband Carl of Huntington, VT, Penelope C. Carrier of Bradford, and Arline C. Stocking and husband Steven of Fairlee; one son, Stephen W. Clark and wife Patricia of Newbury, VT; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Carignan of Poultney, VT; a brother, Franklin Ordway of East Corinth; and several nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be on Saturday, June 8, at 11 AM, in the East Corinth Congregational Church with Rev. Michael Caldwell, officiating. Burial will follow in the Upper Plain Cemetery, Bradford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the East Corinth Congregational Church, PO Box 1086, East Corinth, VT 05040-1086.
