Obituary

Newbury, VT-  Pauline Mae Slater, 79, of Leighton Hill Road, died peacefully with her husband Clarence at her side on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, at the St. Johnsbury Health and Rehab, St. Johnsbury, VT.

Pauline was born in Haverhill, NH, November 10, 1939, the daughter of Francis and Mildred (Shatney) Mace.

She worked for many years as a nurse's aid at the former Oasis Home in Newbury and also private home care.  Pauline married Clarence Slater on June 23, 1977.  She loved picking berries and yard saling.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Clarence Slater of Newbury, VT; two sons, David Whitaker of Haverhill, NH and Daniel Whitaker of Newbury, VT; two daughters, Daphne Huntoon and Debra Grant both of Newbury; two brothers, Robert Mace of South Ryegate, VT and Chester Mace of Groton, VT; two sisters, Patricia Thornton of Haverhill, NH and Leila Welch of Lebanon, NH; five grandchildren and was particularly close with two of grandchildren, Hayden and Johnathon; five great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

At the wishes of Pauline there will be no services.

Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in the Boltonville Cemetery in Wells River.
