Obituary

Peggy Ann Higbie Aurelio, 56, of North Woodstock, passed away on May 12, 2021 in Lebanon NH after a sudden illness. She was born to Peggy Ann (McCabe) and Robert Siguard Higbie in Passaic, New Jersey on October 14, 1964. She graduated from North Fort Myers High School in Fort Myers, FL with the class of 1981 and later graduated from the Ridgewood School of Art and Design in New Jersey.  Peggy grew up in Pompton Lakes, NJ with her sister Rosemarie, spending summers in New Hampshire's White Mountains at their grandparents' campground. Upon graduating art school, she became a freelance artist and returned to NH, where in 1989, on the banks of the Pemigewasset River, she married Frank Lebarron Aurelio. They would spend the next three decades together pursuing their shared passion for family and the outdoors. Peggy was a Master Gardener and avid fisherwoman, who loved skiing, being in the kitchen, riding motorcycles, tinkering with steamboats, spending time with animals, and sharing these joys with her granddaughter in recent years. As a regular volunteer and attendee of Church of the Messiah functions, American Legion events, annual steamboat gatherings, and the New England omens' Herbal Conference, she enjoyed spending time with others that shared her love for life.  Peggy is predeceased by her mother, Peggy (McCabe) Kauffmann, and younger sister, Rosemarie Higbie O'Brien. She is survived by her father, Robert S. Higbie, of Millbrook NJ, as well as her husband, Frank L. Aurelio, daughter, Michelle L. Aurelio, and granddaughter, Aster of North Woodstock. She also leaves behind her nieces, Krystal and Kellie O'Brien, step-son, Clint Aurelio, his children, and his wife, Amy Aurelio.

Services will be held at a later date.

Donations may be made to United Plant Savers or the Church of the Messiah in North Woodstock NH.
