Obituary

Peter James Klimanowski Died peacefully on October 2, 2014 at age 69 at his home in Barnet Vt surrounded by his loved ones. Born on December 14, 1944 in Hartford Ct to the late Anne (Rice) & Joseph Klimanowski. Peter graduated from Hartford High in1962 where he held the Butterfly Swim record, unsurpassed for 30 years. He also graduated from the University of Albuquerque (BS) and St. Joseph s College (Masters of Pastoral Ministry). Peter was retired from the City of Hartford, Social Services after 25 years of service and in 1994 became ordained as a Deacon for the Catholic Church. He served many churches and prayer groups during this calling including Our Lady of Sorrows, Htfd Ct, St. Eugene s Church Wells River, Vt, St. Joseph s Prayer Group and New Jerusalem Prayer Group. Even throughout his last years on earth, Peter continued to counsel numerous people in his community and various surrounding towns. Peter was an avid Red Sox and Uconn Huskie fan and one could hear his cheers and jeers for miles away. His most favorite things to do included debating politics, sports, history facts, bonfires and looking for deer in the mountains of Vermont. He is survived by his two loving daughters, Jody Bolduc and Fiance Robert Coates of Manchester Ct, Wendy Goudreault and husband Joseph of South Windsor Ct, and their mother Judy A. Klimanowski of Manchester, Ct. Beloved grandchildren Kyle Bolduc, Ashley Goudreault, Tyler Goudreault, Jayden Goudreault, Peyton Goudreault and Greyson Goudreault. His sisters Joanne Strahan and husband Gary of New Mexico, Patricia Klimanowski of West Hartford, Ct, loving companion of five years, Gail Bagley (and her daughter Becca) of Barnet Vt. His beloved former spouse (23years) Cara Santoro of Newington Ct, man s best friend, adored companion Sheba and many nieces and nephews. Callings hours are Friday October 10th from 6-8pm and Saturday October 11th from 9-10am at Ricker Funeral Home & Cremation Care of Woodsville, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville NH 03785. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday October 11th, 2014 at 11 am at St Josephs Catholic Church, 15 Pine Street, Woodsville NH. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery in Barnet VT. Donations can be made in his honor to Zuni Christian Mission 19C Pia Mason Rd, Zuni NM 87327.
