Bath, NH- Philip M. Martin, 78, of High Street, died on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at Cottage Hospital in Woodsville, NH.

Philip was born in Haverhill, NH, on December 3, 1935 the son of John and Claire (Barre) Martin. He graduated from Woodsville High School and served with Air Force Reserves from January 28, 1958 to November 28, 1962. Phil married Sylvia Tewksbury on June 22, 1963. He worked in his earlier years as an auto mechanic in Manchester, NH, sold insurance and real estate and later enjoyed woodworking. Phil was an avid Red Sox fan. He loved old cars, attending car shows, watching old western and war movies, and a good wrestling match. Phil also enjoyed listening to country western music.

Philip was predeceased by his wife Sylvia Martin on May 8, 2009; a sister, Faith Pilgram; and a brother, John Martin.

He is survived by his two sons, Michael G. Martin and Jeffrey S. Martin both of Bath; two brothers, David Martin and wife Jean of Apthorp, MA and Barry Martin and wife Kathleen of Madison, ME; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In keeping with Philip's wishes a private service will be held at the convenience of the family at the Pettyboro Cemetery, in Bath.
