Obituary

Bath, NH- Phyllis Mae Lang, 86, of Rum Hill Road, died Sunday, May 31, 2015, at Cottage Hospital, Woodsville, NH. Phyllis was born in Montgomery Center, VT on October 16, 1928, to Floyd and Lena (Houghton) Griggs. She was a graduate of Danville High School, Class of 1946. On April 25, 1947, she married David R. Lang, Jr. Prior to moving to Bath, Phyllis worked at the Rock of Ages capacitor plant for four years in Barre, VT. Later she worked at the Grafton County Nursing Home for ten years as a social worker. She was very active in the Pine Grove Grange, the Friends of Bath, and was a 4-H leader with the boys 4-H for 25 years. Following retirement, she enjoyed traveling throughout New England with her husband, Dave, in their camper. She gave many hours to both Cottage Hospital and Woodsville Ambulance service as a volunteer. She was predeceased by her husband, David R. Lang, Jr. on June 17, 2011; a son, Tracy D. Lang on August 19, 1977; a grandson, Tracy K. Lang on May 6, 2009; a foster daughter, Beatrice Crown in 2007; a sister, Ramona Blouin; and two brothers, Kenneth W. Griggs and Carlton Griggs. She is survived by three sons, Carlton D. Lang of Woodsville, Bryan K. Lang and wife Cindy of Bath, and Kevin J. Lang and wife, Christina of Bow, NH; five grandchildren, Robin Avery and husband Jeff, Sara J. Lang, James K. Lang and wife Carrie, Michael K. Lang and wife Kristen, and Adam R. Lang; five great grandchildren, Ezra and Luke Avery, Kagan Lang, and twins, Parker and Emma Lang. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be on Sunday, June 7 at 1 PM in the North Monroe Cemetery, Littleton Road, North Monroe, NH.
