Obituary

Priscilla Jean (Cawley) Ingalls, 91, North Woodstock passed away peacefully at Grafton County Nursing Home on Tuesday, July 26 th . Priscilla was born at Plymouth Hospital in 1931 to George Cawley and Doris (Wright) Cawley. Priscilla was a life long resident of North Woodstock attending school in both Woodstock and Lincoln; graduating with the class of 1949. Like the rest of her generation growing up during the Great Depression, she grew to understand the value of faith, hard work, responsibility, & compassion for others.

On November 18, 1950 at the age of 19 she married John B. Ingalls. They had two sons- Jeffrey and Gregory who she loved deeply; being the mother of two red headed boys was an adventure she treasured. Priscilla waitressed at several local restaurants including 20+ years at the Indian Head Resort. We believe no customer was ever served more efficiently and with more kindness than how Priscilla treated her customers. She continued this life of service in the same loving manner throughout her lifetime. Later in life, in order to change careers, Priscilla took college classes at Plymouth State College. She then worked as an office manager for the Franconia Paper Mill until it closed. She transferred to the Burndy Corporation and became personnel director & then moved into production management. After 20+ years at Burndy's, she retired.

Priscilla had many passions- first & foremost, her family. She also loved and was a master of crocheting, knitting, needlepoint, cooking, baking, gardening as well as cleaning. Anyone knew when they visited Priscilla, they would be treated to a wonderful meal, a gracious visit, and their every need catered to. But Priscilla was not simply a wonderful wife, mother, and host she was a mountain woman as well; she loved to fish, hunt, & camp.  She cherished her travels with her husband & sons on the road in their camper or spending time in their rustic cabin on Elbow Pond along with many other local families.

Lastly and really foremost, Priscilla was a woman of faith who trusted in Jesus and worked hard to do his work every day. She loved to sing in the choir at Pemi Valley Church and loved her Loon Mountain Ministry family, as well, where she displayed God's grace to everyone.

Priscilla is survived by her son, Gregory Ingalls, of Seward, AK and her two grandsons Keagen Ingalls, Crested Butte, CO and Brenden Ingalls, Easton, NH. She is also survived by her youngest brother, George (Tinker) Cawley, Tyngsboro, MA and numerous nieces & nephews as well as many great nieces & nephews. Priscilla was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, John B. Ingalls her son, Jeffrey J. Ingalls, along with her (Cawley) brothers- Bernard, Lawrence, Frank (Dickie), and her sister Leola (Cawley) Winkley, as well as her nephew, Floyd Cawley, NH. Priscilla was also a true dog lover; she loved, cared for, & spoiled each one of her dogs.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association to help other victims of this disease fight it as courageously as Priscilla did.
