Orford, NH-  Rachael L. Santy, 78, of NH Route 25A, died on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at her home.

Rachael was born on September 21, 1941 and was raised and adopted by Oscar C. and Lindsie (Perry) Ladd.  She was a graduate of Orford High School.

From 1975-2006, Rachael worked at Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital and then the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center as a nursing aide in the Psychiatric Unit.  During the Christmas season Rachael helped out at Kathy Baker' Schoolhouse Gardens in Orford.

Rachael enjoyed fishing and had a great love of animals.  She loved being home, caring for her horses, goats, chickens, dogs, and donkey.

She was predeceased by her adoptive parents Oscar Ladd who died Nov. 26, 1994, and Lindsie Lad who died May 3, 1995, a sister, Avis A. Philbrick and a brother, Rodney Santy.

She is survived by a niece, Jean Reno and her family of Concord, NH.

There will be no calling hours.

A graveside service will held at the convenience of the family this spring.
