Ramona Kidder, 72, South Ryegate passed away on Saturday September 18, 2022, at St. Johnsbury Health and Rehab after a period of failing health. She was born in Randolph, VT, on February 18, 1950, to Daniel and Lorraine (Jacobs) Murphy. She was raised in Corinth, attending local public schools, and graduating from Bradford Academy with the class of 1968. Ramona went on to earn a nursing diploma from Brattleboro Nursing College. She worked as a nurse at Barre City Hospital and Dartmouth Hitchcock for many years and then operated the Rustic Hut in South Ryegate from 2004 to 2014.
Ramona was a creator and artist. She grew vegetables and flowers in her gardens, was a talented cook and baker, gifted painter, painting wildlife, the "moose trophy" and had a series of paintings displayed in Bradford, where she lived from 1981 to 1999. She enjoyed reupholstering furniture, hunting, and fishing. Ramona played softball and was a member of a bowling league.
She is predeceased by her parents, three sisters, Gertrude Foster, June King, Monica Murphy. She is survived by her husband, Fred Kidder, of South Ryegate; a son Jimmy Kidder and his wife Cindy of Bradford, VT; a step-son Fred Kidder II; two brothers, Adrian Murphy and his wife Gloria of Middlesex, VT, and Duane Murphy and his wife Diane of Statesville, NC; four sisters Audrey Murphy of Wells River, VT, Blenda Lakin and her husband Charles of Groton, VT, Donna Longmoore and her husband Bob of Newbury, VT, and Judy Murphy, of Ryegate, VT; a grandson Jamie Kidder of Chicago, IL; four step-grandchildren Hunter Larabee of Newcomb, NY, Katelin Ulman of Haverhill, NH, Sam Kidder of Orford, NH, and Rozzlyn Miller of Orford, NH, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family,
