It is with love and sadness that I announce the passing of my mother, Ramona Thurston, 80, of Warren, NH, on Wednesday July 26, 2023.  Ramona was born on January 1, 1943, to Rosario and Rena (Fuller) Martin in Bloomfield, VT.  Her childhood days were spent in Pike, NH, attending Pike Grammar School and graduating from Haverhill Academy with the class of 1960.

In 1961, Ramona met her soulmate and love of her life, Richard Thurston, whom she married on December 30, 1961.  They shared a happy life until his passing and January 8, 2009.  Together they raised one daughter, Lisa Thurston Iovino in Bradford, VT.
Ramona worked at the Lake Tarleton Club laundry for several years.  After marrying, she worked at Harry's Department Store in Barre, VT, and then at the Bradford National Guard Armory until civilians were not allowed to work there anymore.

Ramona's favorite pastime was spending time with family and friends and painting her special Christmas ornaments and decorating cakes.
Ramona is survived by her special little angel, daughter Lisa Iovino; two grandsons, Allen Thurston and his partner Angie and Angie's children McKenzie and Rilend, all of Warren, and Andrew Hanley of Berlin, NH; great grandchildren, Kaydencce, Le-Ann, and Jameson Allen Thurston; a special granddaughter, Sarrah Thurston; a "wanna-be" daughter Lori Ann Menard; sisters Sandra Pike and her husband Richard of Warren, and Gloria Bumford and her husband Bruce of Warren, granddaughter Donna Randolph and family; grandsons Danny and Dominic Iovino III and families, and many very special nieces and nephews and their families and other extended loved ones far to many to count; and one sister-in-law Carolyn Martin.

She is predeceased by her husband, Richard Thurston, three brothers, Paul, Rodney, and Richard Martin; two sisters, Charlotte Thurston and Anna Page; and son-in-law Dominic Iovino.

There will be a Memorial Service on Tuesday August 8, 2023 at 11AM at the Bradford Fire Station with Melissa Gould as Celebrant.
