Raymond "Bob"
Robert Duval
June 8, 1956 – July 9, 2018
North Haverhill, NH – Raymond Robert "Bob" Duval, 62, of Dartmouth College Highway, passed away Monday, July 9, 2018, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, NH, with his family at his bedside. Bob died from the injuries he sustained in a motorcycle/deer accident in Woodsville on July 3rd.
He was born in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada, June 8, 1956, a son of Raymond A. and Doris E. (McFadden) Duval. He attended Oxbow High School, Bradford, VT, and had worked at various jobs over the years including truck driving, cooking, auto mechanics, and construction. Most recently he was working for Raymond Heath Construction, Inc., of Waterford, VT, which he truly enjoyed. In his spare time, he welcomed mechanical challenges and would work on cars, 4-wheelers, and motorcycles. He looked forward to his Friday night cribbage games with Elwin and Wednesday night pool with friends. He was quite knowledgeable about classic cars and was proud that his son Hunter shared that interest. He also had a lifelong fascination with wild animals, and over the years he'd had unique experiences with a wolf pup, an armadillo, and an owl to name a few. Bob was often seen cruising around town on his motorcycle, and his love of riding was an integral part of who he was as a person. During the past year he had volunteered at Trinity Church of the Nazarene's food pantry. Bob didn't consider himself a religious man, but he did accept Christ before his passing.
He was predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Doris, an infant brother Robert Raymond Duval, and a sister Dianna Duval Scherer, as well as his dear friend Terry Hoyt.
Surviving family members include his wife of 14 years, Tiffany Tremblay Duval, whom he married on July 2, 2004, and son Hunter Duval, age 11, both of North Haverhill; a daughter Nicole Duval of Potsdam, NY, and her sons Ashley and Auryn Vangellow; his siblings Linda Whitcomb and husband Elwin of Bradford, VT; Barry Duval and companion Holly Ricci of Littleton, NH; Lori Davidson and husband Chris of Piermont, NH; and Melissa Parker and husband Rodney; nieces and nephews Tracy Fay, Vicki Bienvenue, Chris Brine, Matthew Whitcomb, Cooper and Camden Davidson, Chrystal Burden, and Haleigh Parker; along with several grand-nieces and nephews, and cousins. He will also be remembered by Tiffany's parents, Pat and John Nutbrown of East St. Johnsbury, VT, and Louis and Pat Tremblay of CT and FL, her brother Brian Tremblay and family of NY, and her extended family, as well as many friends.
Calling hours will be on Friday, July 20th, from 6 to 8 PM at Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, NH. At 7:30 PM there will be a time of remembrance, reflection, and prayer offered.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to benefit Bob's son Hunter James Duval, c/o Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank, PO Box 266, Woodsville, NH 03785.
