Rebecca "Becky" Conrad, 67, of Lily Pond Road, died on Sunday, August 22, 2021, at her home, surrounded by her loving family, following a period of failing health.
Becky was born on April 6, 1954 in Barre City, VT to Earl Raymond and Betty L. (Wheeler) Emerson. She was a graduate of Beekmantown (NY) High School, Class of 1972, attended Claremont (NH) Vo-Tech and became an LPN in 1979. She continued her education and graduated from NH Tech in Concord (NH) as a Registered Nurse in 1986.
Over her career, Becky was an LNA at the Grafton County Nursing Home in North Haverhill and then at the Glencliff Home in Glencliff, NH. She then became LPN at Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth, NH. Once she became an RN, she worked in the Birthing Pavillion for over 19 years, first at the old Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital in Hanover, NH and then at the new Dartmouth Hitchcock Medial Center in Lebanon, NH before retiring in 2004. Becky was passionate about nursing and unfortunately was forced into retirement due to her Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis.
As an active member of the community, she was a member of the Bethany Congregational Church in Pike and was a life member of the VFW Post # 5245 Auxiliary in North Haverhill.
Becky was a Red Sox fan and an avid fan of whatever team Tom Brady played for. She enjoyed cribbage and Texas Hold-'Em, playing golf, and mowing the lawn. Time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren were precious to her.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Mike Conrad of Pike to whom she was married on July 3, 1971; a daughter, Allison Lachance and husband Rollie of Pike; a son, John Conrad and wife Jennifer of Palm Bay, FL; four grandchildren, Christopher S. Eno and wife Cassy of North Haverhill, Julie M. Jenson and husband Andrew of Piermont, Morgan Conrad and Paige Conrad both of Palm Bay; four great grandchildren, Patrick, Adeline, Payton, and Benjamin; her mother, Betty L. Emerson of Newbury, VT; a brother, Mike Emerson of Newbury, VT; brother in law, Philip R. Conrad and wife Kimberly; two nephews, Tyson Conrad and Ethan Conrad and wife Jessica; two great nieces, Isabel and Caroline Conrad; along with aunts, uncles, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her father, Earl Raymond Emerson on August 17, 2014; a granddaughter, Kaitlyn Rebecca Kimberly Conrad on July 25, 2001; grandmother, Blanche Oliver on March 13, 2014; father in law, John Murdock Conrad II on January 28, 1987; mother in law, Betty Mae Conrad on April 23, 2018; brother in law, Thomas M. Conrad on September 28, 2005; nephew, Seth Tyler Conrad on October 22, 2010; and a great nephew, Jacob Seth Conrad on September 15, 2013.
Calling hours will be on Thursday, August 26 th from 6-8 PM at Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, NH.
A memorial service will be on Friday, August 27 th at 11 AM at Bethany Congregational Church, Pike, with Mrs. Joanne Jaworski, officiating.
Burial will follow in Ladd Street Cemetery, Haverhill, NH.
