Rebecca "Becky" (Young) Johnson, 75,  long time resident of Warren, NH
and most recently Pleasant View Center, Concord, NH passed away on Saturday July 15,2023.  She was born in Littleton NH on September 9, 1947, to Grover A. and Joyce E. (Breck) Young.

Rebecca will be laid to rest next to her husband, Richard "Dick" Johnson, a Veteran of the Korean War, at the Veteran's Cemetery in Boscawen, NH. She is predeceased by her parents, Grover and Joyce Young of Glencliff and Milford, NH. Becky is survived by her brothers, Paul Young of Dunbarton, NH and Dana Young of Quechee, VT. She will be fondly remembered by a group of friends who have remained in touch since attending high school in Milford, NH, Becky's hometown. Becky was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in her 20s. She was determined to remain independent, and did so for many, many years. She loved listening to opera, making greeting cards, and enjoyed eating anything chocolate! Becky was an animal lover, caring for two Lhasa Apso dogs, two cockatiels, and several cats, including her last pet, a homeless cat, Misti.

Becky will be dearly missed by her Plymouth State College roommate and "sister" of over 58 years, Beverly Smith of East Sandwich, MA. Becky adored Bev's children, as if they were her own, Karen Turner and Tim Huefner; she was and will always be "Family".  Becky and Bev's "roadtrips" over the years were plentiful and very memorable, and made for much reminiscing and laughing, especially during the last few years. Becky and Bev are forever grateful for their loving and enduring friendship. ~ Bev would tell Becky, "You are the wind beneath my wings.  You are my hero!" And, Becky would reply, "You are my hero, too!" ~ So, until we meet again, Bec, and we will! ~ "Fly, fly away. Fly high against the sky. Thank You, thank you, thank God for YOU, the wind beneath my wings."

Burial and a graveside ceremony will be held at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH on Wednesday August 2, 2023 at 1PM.

In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Becky may be made to Animal Rescue of your choice will be appreciated.
