Canaan, NH- Rebecca Elaine Lakin, 55, of Smith Street, died on Sunday, August 19, 2012 at her home. Rebecca was born in Rosebud, TX, on October 1, 1956, to Clarence Ray and Beatrice Louise (Williams) Solomon. She was employed at the White River Junction, VT, Post Office as a Postal Clerk for the past twelve years. She was a member of the Postal Union. Rebecca moved to Vermont in 1992 with her family. She enjoyed cooking and loved caring for her nails and wearing rings. She was predeceased by her parents, Clarence R. Solomon and Louise Solomon Owens. She is survived by her three children, James Lakin, Jr. and wife Karen of Ryegate, VT, Shaylee Lakin and fianc Ken Sullivan of Wells River, VT, and Pamela Edson and fianc David Glaude, Jr. of Wells River; eight grandchildren, Jonathan Gardner, Jr., Haley Lakin, Katelyn Edson, Aimee Gardner, Kelsey Edson, Brian Lakin, Jared Lakin, and Ryan Edson; two sisters, Carolyn Eixon of Dallas,TX, and Deborah Pendegraff of Texas; two brothers, James Solomon of Cameron, TX and Billy Ray Solomon of Waco, TX; her partner, Francis LeMay of Canaan; her step-father, Ward Smokey Owens, of Texas; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Calling hours will be on Thursday, August 23, from 6-8 PM at Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, NH. A funeral service will be on Friday, August 24, at 3 PM at Ricker Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. M. Catherine Cook officiating.
