Woodsville, NH – Richard "Dick" Comstock, 81, passed away peacefully on March 17th, 2024 at the Grafton County Nursing Home in North Haverhill, NH. Born Richard Edward Comstock of Esmond, RI on July 25th, 1942, to Raymond and Marion Comstock. Dick graduated from Platt High School in Meriden, CT (class of 1960) and from the University of Connecticut (class of 1964).
Dick was predeceased by his parents and his two sisters, Judith Orlando and Susan C. DuBois. He is survived by his wife Heidi Comstock of Woodsville, NH, his three children, Cindy (Don) Cutlip, Glen (Tina) Comstock, Wendy Murphy, his many grandchildren and great grandchildren and his brother Donald Comstock of Wallingford, CT.
Dick enjoyed a fruitful career as a well-respected and skilled physical therapist. He worked in Meriden, CT until he moved his family to Lyman, NH in 1978. Dick continued his career in NH at "The Willows" in Franconia, Cottage Hospital in Woodsville, and his own practice on Central Street in Woodsville. Upon retiring in 2012, he continued to work part time at the Grafton County Nursing Home.
Dick was extremely involved at the Lisbon Bible Church in Lisbon, NH, since its inception in 1980, where he and Heidi remained members until 2022. Dick's faith and love for God were evident through how he lived! He was a solid Bible believer and lived according to the Scriptures. He demonstrated God's love throughout his lifetime, and his faith in God drew many to Christ.
Dick will always be remembered by those who knew him best as an honest, hard-working and extremely generous man. He touched so many lives with his generosity and helping hands. He was truly a one-of-a-kind person who will be sorely missed by his many friends and family.
A service honoring Dick's life will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 20 Central Street, Woodsville, NH on Saturday, April 13th at 1:00pm, followed by a short reception at the church.
