Obituary

North Haverhill, NH-  Richard Ronald Fadden, 81, of Benton Road, died following a 16 year long battle with cancer on Saturday, July 15, 2017, at Cottage Hospital, Woodsville, NH.

Richard was born in Woodsville on June 8, 1936, to Stanley F. and Edna Marion (Keith) Fadden, Sr.  Richard served in the US Air Force for over twenty years, retiring as a Technical Sergeant.

Following his retirement, he worked as an auto mechanic for Fadden Automotive in North Haverhill.

Richard was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Woodsville, Mt. Cube Lodge #10 of Orford, NH, and the Ross-Wood American Legion Post # 20 of Woodsville.

He enjoyed playing cribbage, traveling, and puttering in his workshop.  He always had a story and a joke to share.

He married Shirley Ann Stone on February 19, 1958, and she predeceased him on January 31, 2008. He was also predeceased by his father, Stanley F. Fadden, Sr. on January 27, 1985 and his mother, Edna Fadden on December 17, 1990; a sister, Madelyn; and two brothers, Arnold "Joe" Fadden and Stanley "Stub" Fadden, Jr.

Richard is survived by his wife Louise Fadden of North Haverhill, to whom he was married on January 19, 2013; a daughter, Linda Cosgriff and husband Lee of Lebanon, NH; a son, Dale R. Fadden and wife Terri of Woodsville; a step-daughter, Debra Pray of Randolph, VT; two step-sons, Duane Pray and wife Laurie of Stafford Springs, CT and Eddy Pray and wife Sita of North Haverhill, NH; two grandchildren, Robby Cosgriff and Karissa Fadden; a great grandson, Owen Fadden Cosgriff; four step-grandchildren and six step-great grandchildren; two sisters, Marie Lovell of Groveton, NH and Sue Lang and husband Theodore "Ted" of North Haverhill; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A calling hour will on Saturday, July 22, from 3 to 4 PM with a memorial service to follow at 4 PM at Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, with Pastor Alan Morrison, of the Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. A Masonic service will follow.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH.
