Topsham, VT – Richard Allan Heath, 85, passed away in peace at home on his beloved Troll's Bridge Farm, on Thursday, January 18, 2024. He was welcomed into this world on May 27, 1938, by his parents Ethel Gladys (L'Heureux) and Ivan Merrill Heath in Ayer, MA.

He received his elementary education in several schools because his father was a career military man, he finished high school at the Bristol County Agricultural School. He went on to follow in his father's footsteps and joined the ranks of the US Marine Corps. He was a Lieutenant Corporal and served from 1958 – 1962. He was a plank owner on the USS Independence.

Richard met and fell in love with Polly Jo Crawford Stryker, in 1980 and have been together ever since.

He has worked most of his life in the business of agriculture. He has worked at Olsen's Greenhouse, Mendoza Greenhouses, and Crawford Greenhouses, he also worked for Limlaw Pulpwood, and for himself as co-owner of Troll's Bridge Farm. His hobbies include beekeeping, tending dairy cows, and of course, gardening.

Richard was predeceased by his parents, Ethel, and Ivan Heath; his brothers, Ivan and William Heath; and his former wife, mother of his children, Judith Waylan.

He is survived by his companion of 44 years, Polly Stryker of Topsham, VT; his sons, Michael Heath of South Dartmouth, MA, and Timothy Heath of Boston, MA; and his siblings, John Heath of Clifton Forge, VA, James Christy of Hamburg, AR, and Sandra Campbell of Rumford, ME.

Richard will be laid to rest in Welch Road Cemetery in Topsham, VT, a date and time to be announced in early summer, for a mid-July service.

Richard so enjoyed his visits with people over a cup of coffee at the corner store; his wish is for those who knew him, to take the time to visit with friends and loved ones while enjoying a hot cup of coffee.

There will be a graveside service on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 11 AM in the Welch Road Cemetery of Topsham, VT.
