West Newbury, VT- Richard Arnold Jones, 63, of North Road, died peacefully on Monday, January 12, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Richard was born in Milford, CT on October 3, 1951, to Russell Whitney and Helen Winifred (Garvey) Jones. He was a graduate of Jonathan Law High School in Milford, CT. Richard worked in the printing industry for several newspapers in Connecticut including the Bridgeport Post and the New Haven Register. Locally, he worked for the Valley News before retiring from Dartmouth Printing. Richard moved from Milford, CT to West Newbury in 1990. He was active in the West Newbury Congregational Church and worked with the Newbury 250 Committee. An avid historian, Richard especially enjoyed family genealogy. He has been restoring his father s 1950 Mercury. A motorcycle enthusiast, he loved planning motorcycle trips. He was predeceased by his parents, Helen W. (Garvey) Jones and Russell W. Jones; three brothers, Roger Jones, William Astram, and Russell Jones. He is survived by his wife, Lisa (Maus) Jones of West Newbury, VT, to whom he was married on August 2, 2014; two daughters, Amber Jones and husband Dave Bliven of East Corinth, VT and Stacie Maddox and husband Jason of Burlington, VT and their daughter, Isabelle; step children, Jesse Evans and husband Kurt and their family Corey and Madelyn of Henniker, NH, Dana Paganelli of Seattle, WA, and Ryan Paganelli and wife Dacia and their family Piper, Theodore, and Simone of Gig Harbor, WA; two sisters, Shirley York of Milford, CT and Virginia Burns of Milford, CT; two brothers, Allan Jones and George Swarbrick both of Milford, CT; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Calling hours will be on Sunday, January 18th from 1-3 PM at Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, NH. A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 19th at 11 AM at the First Congregational Church of Newbury, Main Street, Newbury, VT.
