Lisbon, NH- Richard Lee Paradie, 66, of Mt. Eustis Road, died at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH, surrounded by his loving family, on Monday, October 22, 2012. Richard was born in Plymouth, NH on December 16, 1945, to Napoleon and Ruby (Emory) Paradie. He married Janice Hesselman on January 20, 1967. Richard was a former member of the New Hampshire National Guard and worked for himself as a salvage dealer. Richard loved gambling, especially playing poker, and taking trips to the casinos. He and Janice played Yatzee every morning and evening. In his younger days, he loved hunting and fishing. In particular, he loved spending time with his family and spoiling his grandchildren. Richard was predeceased by his sisters, Verna French, Vera Wallace, Lois Paye, and Avis Silverman and by his brother Roy E. Paradie, Herber Paradie, Sr., and Robert Paradie. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Janice Paradie of Lisbon; three daughters, Teresa Paradie and Jodi Dow and husband James both of Lisbon and Shelley; three grandchildren, James Paradie, Tazia Dow and boyfriend Mark Bartlett, and Tyler Dow; a great grandson, Levi Dow; two sisters, Phyllis Sherman of West Cahzy, NY and Doris Oullette of Penacook, NH; a brother, Frederick N. Paradie of Woodsville, NH; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Calling hours will be on Wednesday, October 24th from 6-8 PM at Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, NH. A funeral service will be on Thursday, October 25th at 1 PM at Ricker Funeral Home, with burial following at the Grove Hill Cemetery, Lisbon, NH.
