Obituary

Warren, NH- Richard "Dickie" Irving Smith, 76, of Lake Tarleton Road passed away at his home on Monday, May 29th, 2023.

He was born on September 4th, 1946, at the family home in Wentworth, NH to Stafford I. and June (Stevens) Smith.  He was invited to enlist in the United States Army after school.  Dickie remembered his time in the Army as "They stationed me in Alaska during the coldest part of the year and moved me to Texas during the hottest time of the year."  He was honorably discharged and returned home and began to work locally at several different jobs over the years retiring as a truck driver from Ashland Lumber, now known as Belletetes Lumber.

Richard enjoyed going to the dirt track races in Rumney every weekend with his family, often working in the concessions and helping in the pits with the family race team.  He enjoyed collecting coins and beyond all else watching his six children grow.

Richard is predeceased by his first wife of 25 years, Marie Mable Roulx (Floret); a sister, Ruth Gilbert; and a brother Glen Smith.  He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Nancy (Conkey) Smith; five sons, Glen Smith and wife Jenny of MA; Travis Smith of KY; Reece Smith and wife Bridget of FL; William Smith and partner Faith Martin of NH and Ethan Smith of NH; one daughter, Angela Kwedor and husband Dan of NH; three sisters, Mary Wright, Susan Wright, and Ann Kinne; two brothers, Gene Smith and Paul Smith; and many loving grandchildren nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 9th at 11 AM at the Warren Village Cemetery with Pastor Dean Stiles.
