Robert (Bob) Lawrence Benjamin Sr. of Bradford, VT passed away peacefully Friday, November 8, 2024, at the Jack Byrne Palliative Care Center after a courageous battle with Cancer.

Bob was born in Bradford on March 16, 1939, in a cabin built by his parents. The son of Lawrence & Catherine (Blake) Benjamin. Bob attended Bradford schools and was involved with boxing during his time at the Bradford Academy, even competing in the Golden Glove competition. Bob was a member of the Army National Guard for several years before his honorable discharge in March of 1964. He liked snowmobiling and camping with family and friends and like his father, he developed a love of music as a young boy. He played both bass and guitar and enjoyed performing his whole life with a long list of musicians at clubs, fairs and family events throughout Vermont and New Hampshire. He also enjoyed writing and recording songs. He was known for racing the #66 Sportsman Coupe at Bear Ridge Speedway in Bradford when he was younger and supported both his sons racing later on. He worked most of his life as a mechanic for several area garages, eventually owning and operating Benjamins Garage until his retirement.

He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years Patricia Benjamin, his parents Lawrence "Chub" and Catherine Benjamin of Bradford, sisters Marilyn Betts of Laconia, and Carilyn and husband John Colby of Newport, VT.

Bob is survived by a brother, David Benjamin and wife Meroa of Bradford, VT, son Robert Benjamin Jr. and partner Cheryl of Wilmot, NH, son Dwayne Benjamin and wife Sarah of Bradford, VT and daughter Jennifer and husband Paul Rivers of Bradford, VT and Sharon Fenoff of North Haverhill, NH who lived with Pat and Bob for many years.

Grand Children Clint Benjamin, Aaron Rivers and wife Ashley, Brittany Benjamin, Cyle Benjamin, Ryan Rivers and partner Felicia, Jeremy Benjamin and wife Emily and David Benjamin. Great Grandchildren Madison, Lillian, Holden, Bentley, Eloise, and Lucas, each who shared a special place in his heart along with his beloved pets.

At Bob's request, there will be no calling hours.  Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024, at 1:00 pm at the Grace United Methodist Church, Bradford, VT. A gathering will follow the service in the Great Room. A family burial will occur at a later date.
