South Ryegate, VT-  Robert L. Davis, 61, of Church Street, died at his home on Sunday, April 19, 2020 following a period of failing health.

Bob was born in Woodsville, NH on November 18, 1958 to Lloyd A. and Barbara (Butterfield) Davis.

Over the years, he has been employed on a part time basis with the US Postal Service and later as a cashier at WalMart.  He also served briefly with the National Guard.

Bob was active in the Ryegate Fire Department, the Groton FAST Squad, and Woodsville Ambulance.  He enjoyed panning for gold, hunting and fishing, maple sugaring, and cutting firewood.

He is survived by his wife, Robin (Vincent) Gilleland to whom he was married on January 5, 2019, after having been together since 2004.  He is also survived by two step sons, Aaron Gilleland of Chicago, IL and Mark Gilleland of South Ryegate; and a step granddaughter, Caitlyn Gilleland.

He was predeceased by his mother, Barbara Davis on August 1, 1996; his father, Lloyd Davis on March 8, 2003; his sister, Linda Mae Davis; his brother, Kenneth Davis; and a step daughter Rachel Gilleland on March 12, 2019.

In keeping with Bob's wishes, there will be no services.
