Littleton, NH- Robert Sylvester Dexter, Jr., 88, formerly of Bath, NH, died on Monday, December 17, 2012, at the Lafayette Center, Franconia, NH. Robert was born in Haverhill, NH on July 10, 1924, to Robert S. and Lila M. (Hardy) Dexter, Sr. Following high school, he served in the US Army during World War II. After his Honorable Discharge, he worked for 25 years for Texaco in Chelsea, MA, retiring as a superintendent. He later worked for 18 years for the Wong family at Kowloon's Restaurant on Route 1 in Saugus, MA. He had a very strong personal relationship with the Wong family. Following his retirement in the early 1990's, Robert returned to Bath from Saugus and cared for his mother, Lila, until her death. He was a member of the Lepo Shrine Temple in Boston and was a 32nd Degree Mason. He is survived by three daughters, Lynda Monohan and husband Joseph of Medford, MA, Cheryl Carpenter of Lynn, MA, and Angela Presby and husband Bruce of Littleton; a son, Michael Dexter and wife Theary of Palm Bay, FL; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and his longtime companion, Thelma (Estes) Stebbins of Franconia. A memorial service will be on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 10 AM at the Bath Congregational Church with Rev. Thomas Peters officiating.
