Woodsville, NH- Robert F. Huminski, 79, died on Tuesday, December 22, 2015, at Cottage Hospital in Woodsville , NH .
Robert was born on October 4, 1936 in Dunellen , NJ , to Stanley J. and Harriet I. ( Leeds ) Huminski.
As a young boy, Robert worked for The Sunshine Market in Dunellen , NJ . He later worked at The Art Color Printing Company, also in Dunellen, before entering into the military. Robert served with the U.S. Air Force. After his honorable discharge he married Marie Elizabeth Adamczyk on September 26, 1959. Robert sold his interest in a Piscataway weekly newspaper to move to New England after learning of a pair of newspapers for sale. Robert purchased the Bradford United Opinion and the Woodsville Journal in March of 1977. He merged the two papers together into the Journal Opinion. On January 1, 2007 he sold the Journal Opinion and retired. When Robert wasn't running a newspaper, he was a flying enthusiast and was active in supporting the Dean Memorial Airport in North Haverhill for many years.
He was predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Marie E. Huminski on November 14, 2007 and by a brother, Stanley J. Humiencki.
Survivors include his son, Robert M. Huminski and wife Susan of Woodsville, NH; two sisters, Harriet Scalera of Califon, NJ and Martha Haborak and husband Ray of Mechanicsburg, PA; a brother, Thomas Huminski and wife Teresa of Westford, MA; many nieces and nephews and all their children who loved him dearly; and cousins, Stella Lawrence of Hillsborough, NJ, Joan Hahr of St. Johnsbury, VT, and William Kania of Matawan, NJ.
There will be no calling hours.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, December 28, at 11 AM, at the St. Joseph 's Catholic Church, 15 Pine Street , Woodsville , NH with Father Alan Tremblay officiating.
Burial will follow in the St. Joseph 's Catholic Cemetery .
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the DHMC Oncology Department Fund, DHMC Development Office, One Medical Center Drive , Lebanon , NH 03765 .
