East Ryegate, VT Robert E. Rab Keenan, 70, died Saturday, January 31, 2015, at the St. Johnsbury Health & Rehab Center following a brief illness. He was born in Haverhill, NH, May 27, 1944, a son of Charles H. and Grace (Chamberlin) Keenan. Following graduation from McIndoe Falls Academy, he served in the United States Army with tours in South Korea and Germany. Robert had worked at the former Adams Paper in Wells River and the East Ryegate Paper Mill, and later worked for the US Postal Service in the White River Junction facility. He was a member of Ross Wood American Legion Post # 20 of Woodsville. Robert was an avid sports fan, especially for the teams from Cleveland. He enjoyed reading, watching television, and Republican politics. Robert was very proud his son Jimmy s military service and awards. He married Sheila Stebbins on March 17, 1985. He was predeceased by his son, James A. Keenan on June 29, 2011; his father, Charles on November 30, 1995; and his mother, Grace on October 6, 1996. Survivors include his wife Sheila of East Ryegate; a daughter, Desiree C. Keenan-Smith and husband Edward of Ryegate; four grandchildren, Haylie, Robert, Aidan, and Payton; a sister, Alice Keenan Frazer of Monroe, NH; a brother, Paul J. Keenan and wife Edna of Ryegate; along with nieces, nephews, and cousins. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be on Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at 11 AM, at the Pine Grove Cemetery, Swiftwater Road, Woodsville, NH.
