Littleton, NH – Robert Vincent Lane, 75, died on Thursday, November 11, 2010, at the Grafton County Nursing Home, North Haverhill, NH. Robert was born in Tremont, Illinois, March 3, 1935, the son of George T. and Annette (Blue) Lane. Bob served his country for 22 years with the U. S. Marine Corps and the U. S. Air Force. After his retirement from the U. S. military, he was employed with the U. S. Postal Service. He worked in the White River Junction, Vermont and in Wyoming postal facilities. Later, Bob worked for Burndy's in North Haverhill, NH and at Wal-Mart in Littleton, NH prior to his retirement in 2008. He was a member of the Haverhill Memorial Post # 5245 of the VFW in North Haverhill and was a member of the Masons. He enjoyed reading, aviation, science fiction shows, watching television, and spending time in the outdoors in his gardens. He is survived by a daughter, Karla Chase and husband Preston of Landaff, NH; two sons, Bret Lane and wife Virginia of Dalton, NH and Shawn Lane and wife Elaine of Pelham, NH; twelve grandchildren and one great grandson; a brother, George T. Lane, Jr. and wife Cathy of Portland, Oregon; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In keeping with Bob's wishes there will be no public services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Norris Cotton Cancer Center, Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, One Medical Center Drive, Lebanon. NH 03756.
