North Haverhill, NH – Robert Gustavus Pennington, 90, died on Monday, June 10, 2013 at the Grafton County Nursing Home in North Haverhill, NH. He was born in Boston, MA, June 19, 1922, the son of Robert Gordon and Esther Emma (Hoff) Pennington. Robert served with the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He was a salesman in the Camera Department of Jordan Marsh in downtown Boston before retirement. Bob moved to Woodsville, NH in 1985 with his wife Lenore from Jamaica Plain, MA. He volunteered at Cottage Hospital and Grafton County Nursing Home. He also delivered Meals on Wheels and read to preschool children at the Woodsville Library. He was predeceased by his wife Lenore Helen (Bates) Pennington on February 17, 1999 and a grandson, Eric Pennington on March 15, 1979. Survivors include his son, Carl Pennington and wife Linda of Kokomo, IN; two grandchildren, Mark Pennington of Lafayette, IN and Rebecca Pennington of Kokomo, IN; four great grandchildren; and a sister, Louise Hulbert of Winchester, MA. There will be no calling hours. A private family service will be held at a later date at the Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, MA.
