Obituary

Monroe, NH- Robert Lowell Wagner, 85, died on Monday, June 8, 2015 at the Grafton County Nursing Home in North Haverhill, NH. Robert was born in Waterloo, IA, on December 13, 1929, the son of James P. and Florence (Wendt) Wagner. Robert served with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He served in Germany, Italy, and France as a heavy equipment operator. Robert married Shirley Harris on November 24, 1951. He drove truck for 32 years for Builders Express in Lafayette, NJ. In May of 1988 Robert and his family moved to Monroe from Highbridge, NJ. He worked at Burndy Corp. in Littleton. Robert loved caring for his home, lawn, and garden. He enjoyed fishing, taking great walks in the woods with his dog Sunshine, and was very active with his grandchildren. In his younger, years he enjoyed golfing with his son Glenn in NJ. Robert was a member of the Monroe Community Church of Monroe. He was predeceased by his wife Shirley Wagner on March 27, 2015; a daughter, Karen Wagner; a grandson, Jordan Wagner; two sisters, Jean Hough and Mercedes Pickett; and a brother, Francis "Bud" Wagner. Survivors include a son, Glenn Wagner and wife Sandra of Monroe; a daughter, Roberta S. Higgins and husband Daniel of Lisbon, NH; eight grandchildren, Robert A. Weddermann and wife Dora, Kara Heath and husband Ryan, Tyler Emerson and girlfriend Mele Bouchard, Ashton Wagner, Larkyn Wagner, Baylee Wagner, Kennedy Wagner, and Dayton Wagner; four great grandchildren, Stefan and Sean Weddermann and Madison and Owen Heath; four sisters, Audrey Ryan of Walden, NY, Blanche Schick of Wantage, NJ, Joclyn Young of Branchville, NJ, and Gloria Beemer of Beemerville, NJ; a brother, James Wagner of Beemerville; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be on Sunday, June 14, at 12 PM at the North Monroe Cemetery with Pastor Earl Brock from the Monroe Community Church officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Monroe Community Church, c/o Winston Currier, PO Box 125, Monroe, NH
