Oakhurst, NJ Roger W. Fillian, 84, died Friday, January 9, 2009, from complications with cancer. Mr. Fillian was born in Orford, NH, on August 13, 1924, a son of Alphonse and Jessie (Woods) Fillian, and lived there until 1964 with his wife of 60 years Barbara. With his wife and four children they moved to New Jersey, where he lived until his death. Mr. Fillian was a member of the Carpenter Unions in both New Hampshire and New Jersey for over 54 years. He was predeceased by his wife Barbara (Sawyer) Fillian on November 1, 2006, and a great grandson Matthew of Wall Township, NJ. Mr. Fillian is survived by his four sons, Philip of Phoenix, AZ, Clayton of Huntington Beach, CA, Bruce of Sea Grit, NJ, and Larry of Fredericksburg, VA; 16 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren; two sisters, Beatrice Perry of Bradford, VT, and Ruthie Davis of Lebanon, NH. Calling hours will be on Friday, January 16, 2009 from 10 AM to 1 PM at Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, NH. A graveside funeral service and burial will be in Orford Street Cemetery on May 22, 2009 at 12 PM with Pastor Richard Hodge officiating.
