Woodsville, NH- Roger L. Ruggles, 89, a long-time Woodsville resident, died after a period of declining health on Saturday, November 29, 2014, at Cottage Hospital, Woodsville. Roger was born in Lisbon, NH on January 12, 1925, to Harry and Esther Belle (Morse) Ruggles. He married Iona A. LeMay on November 16, 1946. Roger worked in various jobs at the East Ryegate Paper Mill for forty years from 1954 through 1994. He enjoyed tinkering on lawn mowers and other machines. Roger could be seen taking walks all over town. In later years, he assisted others by taking them to appointments and shopping. He was predeceased by his wife of nearly 53 years, Iona A. Ruggles on April 12, 1999, and by several sisters and brothers. Roger is survived by four sons, Bradley G. Ruggles and wife Kelli of Littleton, NH, James J. Ruggles and wife Elizabeth, Jeffrey P. Ruggles and wife Yvonne of Lyndonville, VT, and Richard K. Ruggles and wife Lynn of North Haverhill, NH; nine grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. A funeral service will be on Wednesday, December 3 at 11 AM at Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville. Burial will be in the spring in Grove Hill Cemetery, Lisbon.
