Groton, VT Roland Perry Haskins, 75, of Goodfellow Road, died August 15, 2009 at his home following an extended illness. He was born in Ripton, VT May 30, 1934, a son of Arthur and Ella Mary (Devoid) Haskins. He previously had worked as a lift operator at Stowe; however, most recently owned his own lawn care business. Roland has lived in Groton for the past 27 years. He married Mary (Fortin) on October 25, 2003. Survivors include his wife Mary of Groton, three children Laurie Haskins of East Haven, VT, Pam Haskins and Ray Haskins both of New York; two step children DeeDee Bourtelle and husband Dave of North Carolina; and Alex Grenier and wife Crystal of West Charleston, VT; several grandchildren, including two special grandchildren Kyle Bourtelle and Kasey Ainsworth. He is also survived by his siblings Howard Haskins of Derby, VT; Ted Haskins of New York; and Betty Paton of South Ryegate, VT; a brother in law Paul Fortin of Derby, VT; along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two children Linda and Brian Haskins. Calling hours will be at Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, NH on Thursday, August 20th, from 10:30 AM until the time of the memorial service at noon.
