North Haverhill, NH Rosa Candida Provost, 90, died on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at the Oasis Home in Bradford, VT. She was born in South Ryegate, VT, May 21, 1920, the daughter of Chester and Adele (Monti) Rosa. Rose graduated from Woodsville High School and attended hair dressing school in Boston, MA. Rose married Joseph B. Provost on April 3, 1943. Along with her husband and mother, they ran the former Kenhenshaw Lodge in Wells River, VT. She managed the Twin City Bowling Lanes in Barre, VT when it first opened. She worked in the meat department at People s Market in Woodsville. Prior to her retirement, Rosa later worked as a medical records clerk at Cottage Hospital. She was a member of the South Ryegate Presbyterian Church and former member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Ross Wood Auxiliary Unit # 20 American Legion in Woodsville. For many years she was a member of Cottage Hospital Auxiliary. Rose and Joseph spent over 20 winters in Frostproof, FL. Rose enjoyed gardening, camping, cruising, her pets, and most of all, spending time with her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph B. Provost on May 30, 1987. Survivors include her daughter, Brenda Paronto and husband Dana of North Haverhill, NH; a son, Joseph B. Provost, Jr. and wife Cheryle of Wells River, VT; four grandsons, Jeremy Provost and his wife Terri, Corey Provost, Chad Paronto and his wife Karie, and Brad Paronto and his wife Carol; four great grandchildren, Jordan and Emily Provost and Rylee and Connor Paronto; three step grandchildren, Collin, Griffin, and Maya Litke; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be on Friday, February 18, from 6 to 7:30 PM at the Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, NH. A graveside service will be on May 14, at 11 AM at the Pinehurst Cemetery in South Ryegate, VT. In lieu of flowers, Grammie Rose would have wanted to help Corey.
