Obituary

Rosalie Ruth (Lee) Morgan-Davie died peacefully at the Grafton County Nursing Home on August 8th, 2024. She was born to Frank and Thelma (Earl) Morgan on October 30th, 1929, and always claimed that she was responsible for the Great Stock Market Crash of that year. Her dynamic personality and acerbic wit featured prominently in most of her relationships, and persisted to the very last.

Rosalie married Edward Davie in 1950, and they raised five children. While they eventually divorced, they were pleasantly reconciled in the last year of her life. As a Quaker, Rosalie was always attuned to issues of social justice, and she ultimately earned a degree to become a social worker. But it must be said that her second greatest love in life was her long association with agriculture. She kept sheep for many years, and when she was compelled to sell the farm in New York State and move to Vermont, she brought her nine favorite (and somewhat geriatric) sheep with her.  Her first love was her family, and she is survived by her ex-husband Edward, her five children: Linda Garner, Morgan Davie, Stephen Davie, Elaine Rust, and Keith Davie, along with 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Her life will be celebrated, privately, as she requested, with an evening of music, food, and noise.
