Obituary

Rose M. Hanson, 71, Haverhill, NH, passed peacefully at home surrounded by family on Thursday May 4, 2023. She was born on Saturday August 4, 1951, to Julia Arlene (Boutin) and Hiram Henry Hanson Sr. at Cottage Hospital in Woodsville. Rose attended Haverhill public schools and graduated from Haverhill Academy. She worked for many years as a seamstress.

Rose enjoyed sewing, she even made Bernice's wedding dress. Tradition went that Rose would create homemade wedding cakes for her family that were beautiful and delicious. She enjoyed tending her flower gardens in spring and summer, going to craft fairs with her niece Julie year-round, long trips north in the fall to enjoy the foliage and going all out decorating for all the holidays to make it special for her family. In her quiet time, she would make flower arrangements from flowers she had grown, enjoyed collecting fairies and miniature flower vases, playing solitaire, and completing crossword puzzles. She was a talented baker, especially remembered for her chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting. Rose was an Avon Lady, meeting many new people and making friends, which she enjoyed. She, more than anything else, loved spending time with her siblings and their children, loving her nieces and nephews like they were her own children.

Rose is predeceased by her parents and a great nephew, Christopher John Rodger. She will be remembered by her two brothers, Hiram Henry Hanson II (Butch) and his wife Bernice of Haverhill and Curtis Alan Hanson and his wife Mary of Haverhill; three sisters Rebecca Lee Fruedenberg of North Haverhill, Mary Ann Baillargeon and her husband David of Haverhill, and Wendy Jo Marsh of Piermont, seven nephews, Eric Chase and his wife Krissy of North Haverhill, Ben White of North Haverhill, Danny Hanson of Manchester, NH, Nicholas Hanson of Rochester, NH, Anthony Livigne of Spring Hill, FL, Hiram Hanson III and his wife Carrie of Charlotte, NC, and Corey Hanson and his spouse John Disario of Concord, NH; three nieces, Julie Harris and her husband Hunter of North Haverhill, Deanna Hanson and her partner Kurt Sherwood of Concord, NH, and Shanna Rodger of Delaware, MD; four grand-nephews, Alexander John Rodger, Lucas Dylan Rodger, Christopher Barton, and Michael Barton; three grand-nieces, Mercedes Eastman, Liz Hanson, and Hailey Rose Harris; with Hannah Harris due to arrive in July; special friends, Joan Bruce, Linda Mckinney, and Theresa Lavoie.

Rose will be buried privately in the family lot in Ladd Street Cemetery in Haverhill, NH.
