Obituary

Ryegate, VT- Russell Alan Hatch, 64, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at his home. Alan was born on December 14, 1949, in Woodsville, NH, the son of Russell E. and Violet (Hood) Hatch. He graduated from Woodsville High School and later that summer enlisted with the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War serving in Germany. Alan drove truck for D.C.I. in Lisbon, NH and Fogg s Hardware in Fairlee, VT for many years. He married Jacqueline Jackie McLure on May 18, 1985. Alan had a passion for riding motorcycles and has ridden since he was 14 years old. He also loved his John Deere tractors, and remodeling his 1932 Ford. Alan was a member of the American Legion Post #79 of Thetford, VT. He was predeceased by his father, Russell E. Hatch on December 25, 2006; and by several uncles. Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Jacqueline Jackie Hatch of Ryegate, VT; his mother, Violet Vi Hatch of Haverhill, NH; two daughters, Angie Hatch and Derek Lehman of Newark, VT and Dawn Shatney and husband Dean of West Burke, VT; two sons, Keith Hatch and wife Jennifer of Pike, NH and Tim Ingerson and wife Amy of Littleton, NH; 12 grandchildren; two special aunts, Shirley Hatch of Bradford, VT and Jean True of St. Johnsbury, VT; two uncles, William Hood and wife Nancy of Newbury, VT and Harley Tink Hood and wife Polly of Newbury, VT; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A graveside service is now planned for Saturday, June 7th, at 10 AM in the Ladd Street Cemetery, Haverhill, NH.
