Landaff, NH- Russell Oliver Smith, 69, of Allbee Road, died on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at his home.

Russell was born in Haverhill, NH, on December 4, 1946 to Raymond and Mildred (Johnson) Smith. He graduated from Lisbon High School, class of 1964. Russell served with the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1969. He was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. After his military service, Russell ran his own trucking company for many years, along with driving for Currier Trucking in Gorham, NH. He was a truck driver for 26 years for H.G. Wood Industries, Bath, NH before his retirement. Russell lived most of his life in Lisbon, NH. He enjoyed playing golf at the Lisbon Village Country Club, Blackmount Country Club, North Haverhill, and was a member of the Ross-Wood Post #20 American Legion of Woodsville, NH. Russell had a great sense of humor, an infectious laugh, and a giving personality. He enjoyed the company of his family and friends over the years and especially over the past three months.

He is survived by his four children, Michael Smith and wife Tonya of Newtown, PA, Thomas Smith and wife Chrisara of Landaff, Matthew Smith and wife Lee of Ft. Myers, FL, and Candy Thornton and husband Roger of Lisbon; 13 grandchildren; a sister, Nancy Landry and husband Jerry of Lyman, NH; and his companion of many years, Catherine Berry of Landaff, NH, and one niece and three nephews. Russell was predeceased by a sister, Judy Seaha.

There will be no calling hours.

A graveside service will be on Friday, May 27, at 1 PM, in the Grove Hill Cemetery, Lisbon, NH, with Rev. Lyn Winter officiating.
