Obituary

Piermont, NH Russell Wellington Francis Woodard, 82, died unexpectedly at his home on December 27, 2012. He was born in West Stewartstown, NH, January 11, 1930, a son of Margin and Myrtle (Giroux) Woodard. He was a graduate of Colebrook Academy, Class of 1948. He married Suzanne Landry on April 10, 1950. Following graduation, he began working in Colebrook and then transferred to Bradford, VT, as a lab technician for Whiting Milk, then for Dairy Lea, and then for Yankee Milk. He continued on with the company, which then became Agri-Mark Milk Company for 45 years as a field representative. Russell enjoyed visiting with the farmers and the entire dairy community. Russell was a communicant of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Bradford. He was a former member and Past Master of Grafton Kane Lodge # 46 F&AM of North Haverhill, NH, a former member of Bektash Temple AAONMS of Concord, the Scottish Rite Body, a member of the Mt. Cube Masonic Lodge in Orford, NH, and the Grand Lodge of Masons of New Hampshire, where he was a former District Education Officer. He was also a director of the Grafton County Farm Bureau. For the past 20 years, he volunteered at the Agri-Mark/Cabot booth at the North Haverhill Fair. He was also a former member of the Knights of Columbus in Colebrook. Russell liked camping, gardening, tending animals, reading, listening to country music and gambling. He was an avid yard saler and bottle collector. Most of all, he was a proud husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was predeceased by two sisters, Katherine and Joyce and a brother Darrell. Survivors include his wife of Suzanne M. of Piermont; four daughters, Ann M. of Unity, ME, Rosemarie J. of Lebanon, ME, Frances P. of Laconia, NH, and Pauline S. and husband Ken of Enfield, NH; and a son Michael J. of Manchester, NH; six grandchildren, Carrie (and Tony), Tammy (and Steve), Marcia (and Mike), Denise, Sharon, Curtis (and Neilly); three step grandchildren, Sarah, Elizabeth, and Andrew; a great granddaughter, Risa; five step great grandchildren, Tori, Jakob, Eli, Daniel, and Noah; a sister Lillian of Lynn, MA; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A calling hour will be on Wednesday, January 2, 2013, from 1-2 PM with a funeral service and Masonic service immediately following at 2PM, at Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, NH. Burial will be in the spring in South Lawn Cemetery, Piermont. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of one s choice or to the Orford Senior Center, Orford, NH 03777.
