Ruth
Ranno
December 25, 2023
North Haverhill, NH – Ruth M Ranno, age 80, went to be with her Heavenly family on Monday, December 25, 2023, with her family at her side after a courageous battle with Interstitial lung disease.
Ruth was born in Woodsville, NH, on November 8, 1943, to Helen (Winship) and George Ranno. She grew up in Wells River, VT, along with her brother, Sonny Ranno. Many childhood memories were created at Ticklenaked Pond, which were later shared with her children.
Upon her graduation from Wells River High School, in 1961, she married David J Locke. They moved to Haverhill, NH, to begin creating a home that would eventually include their five children. They were later divorced in 1975.
In addition to raising her children, she also began working at Channel Mills in Bradford, Vermont, and ended her working career with retiring from the Grafton County Nursing Home.
Following her retirement, she began having her "me" time. This included attending concerts, trips to Foxwoods Casino, bus trips, church suppers, playing cards, but mostly, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Additionally, she enjoyed giving back to her community through volunteering at the Haverhill Congregational Church and driving the veterans to their appointments.
She is predeceased by her parents, Helen and George Ranno, and her brother Sonny Ranno.
She is survived by her five children: David Locke Jr of North Haverhill, NH, Wanda Larrivee and husband Marc of Littleton, NH, Kathy Locke of Stuart, FL, Shannon Clough of North Haverhill, NH, and Lisa Simonds and husband Bruce of Woodsville, NH. Seven grandchildren: Emily Wilkins, Rachael Wilkins, Kayla Wurtz, Amanda Edwards, Haley Bott, Molly Simonds, and Sophia Clough. Four great grandchildren: Paislee Edwards, Jase Fullerton, Warren, and Marcia Bott. She will be greatly missed by all.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ruth Ranno may be made to an Animal Rescue of your choice.
There will be no calling hours. A funeral will be held at the Haverhill Congregational Church on Saturday January 13, 2024 at 1PM, followed by a Celebration of Life at the parish hall. There will be a private graveside service at the Wells River Cemetery in the spring.
