Sarah Troiano died unexpectedly at home in Ryegate, VT, on November 1, 2026. She was born in 1966 and raised in Staten Island, NY, the daughter of Judy and Charles Brock, both of whom predeceased her. Sarah married Matthew Troiano in August 2003 at Matt’s brother’s farm in Stannard, VT. Matt’s brother, Justice of the Peace Joseph (Chip) Troiano, and his sister, Judge Lorraine Parker, officiated at the ceremony attended by their families and many friends from New York and Vermont.

Sarah was devoted to her brothers Edward Brock of Yorkville, PA, and Joseph Brock of Detroit, MI, and her nieces and nephews. She was also close to her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and their families in Vermont and NJ.

Sarah earned an associate's degree in paralegal studies at Staten Island Community College. She worked in New York City for several years as a paralegal at St. Martin's Press and for Ralph Vicinanza, the literary agent, among whose clients was Stephen King. She later worked for leading law firms on Staten Island and in Vermont. Sarah and Matt travelled extensively in Europe, the US and the Caribbean. Most recently, they traveled to Sardinia in Spring 2026.

Sarah was a passionate animal rescue volunteer who worked to place pets that lost their owners during hurricanes or those simply abandoned on the streets of New York.
