Scott J. Avery, 69 of Barre, MA passed away unexpectedly on Saturday June 29th in his New Hampshire home. Born September 17th, 1954, in Holden, MA to the late Joseph A. Avery and Florence May (Cooley) Avery. A lifelong resident of Barre, he graduated from Quabbin Regional High School and shortly after began his career at Chas G. Allen CO. Machine Shop where he worked for 49 years. Scott enjoyed spending weekends at his second home in Mountain Lakes, New Hampshire where he spent most of his time skiing, hiking, biking and fishing with his 2 nieces who affectionately called him 'Bigfoot'.

Scott is survived by his sister Jo-Ann Grimaldi and her husband Dennis, of Holden MA and his 2 nieces, Jennifer Staruk and her husband Philip of Auburn, MA and Kimberly Grimaldi, of Holden, MA. Scott also leaves behind his good friend Tracey MacDonald of Barre, MA and her 2 dogs Harper and Millie who he was often seen walking.

His family would like to thank Dr. Switzer and his team at Reliant Medical for providing Scott's treatments over the last 2 years.

At his request, there will be no calling hours or funeral. A celebration of life will be held Sunday, August 18th at 1:00PM at his home in Barre.
