Seth Stephen
Lyndes, Jr.
November 2, 2019
Seth Stevens Lyndes, Jr. 68 died peacefully at Cottage Hospital with his family by his side on November 2, 2019. Seth died from complications due to a lengthy battle with COPD. Seth known to his family and friends as Bud, was born to Seth and Viola (McGuire) Lyndes on July 22, 1951. Bud the oldest son to Seth and Viola grew up in Lyman, NH alongside his six brothers and sisters. He worked closely with his father and brothers on the extended family farm; Welch's farm in Lyman NH. Bud went to school in a small school house in Lyman NH. Until middle school where he would graduate from Lisbon Regional High.
After graduation Seth married briefly and went on to work in the local saw mills. After sustaining an injury to his hand, he changed career paths and returned to work with local farms throughout northern Vermont and New Hampshire. Bud enjoyed the outdoors and caring for animals. He took great pride in his work and was a well-respected farm hand.
In the mid-eighties, Bud remarried and became a family man, where he cared for his wife Arlene and her three children. Until her death 10 years ago.
With age, Bud's health started to fail due to COPD and it became difficult for him to continue to work. He renewed his childhood passion of fishing and caring for his beloved dogs. While on a walk one day with his beloved dogs, he met and fell in love with his soulmate, Debbie Hill. Debbie and her daughters Jessica and Jenny brought a new energy to Bud and he found that fishing all the riverbed side was better shared with loved ones. Debbie's passion for deep sea fishing eventually won Bud over and after several years of saying "NO, there's fish out there with sharp teeth as big as me". He finally went on a deep sea fishing trip with Debbie. Bud fell in love all over again and every year since that one excursion Bud and Debbie have continued their annual deep sea fishing trips to catch the "big one".
Bud will be remembered by many for his heart of gold, kind nature, and the sparkle found within his eyes whenever family was near.
Bud leaves behind his partner Debbie Hill of Pike, NH. Her daughters, Jessica and husband Donald Ferland, and Jenny Hill all of Pike. His children Seth J. and wife Wendy Lyndes of Littleton, NH, his grandchildren Seth J. Lyndes, III., Nate Lyndes, and Kayla Thurston all of Littleton, NH. His daughter, Julie Lyndes. His sister Paulina and husband Fred Hunt of Lisbon, NH., brother Kim and his wife Lurette Lyndes of Lyman, NH. Several nieces and nephews.
Bud was proceeded in death by his parents, Seth and Viola (McGuire) Lyndes, his brother Stanely K. Lyndes, sister Pamela D. Houghton, sister Melody A. Hawkins, and sister Jewell M. Nelson, wife Arlene, and son John Lyndes.
In lieu of donations and flowers the family wishes for you to find comfort when you see a ripple in the water that his fishing line has been cast and he is awaiting the big catch of the day. Take time to enjoy the sounds of nature and all the beauty that surrounds you. Be kind to one another and take care of those you love. This is how we wish to honor our beloved family member.
