Groton, VT – Sharon Mary Bailey, 72, passed away after a short illness on Thursday, January 26, 2017, at the Littleton Regional Hospital, Littleton, NH, with her family surrounding her.

Sharon was born in Haverhill, NH, July 25, 1944, a daughter of Lee and Mary (Cassidy) Frost.  She graduated from Groton High School, class of 1962.  Sharon married Norman J. Bailey on July 6, 1964.  For many years she sold Avon around the area. She also worked for over 25 years in the cafeteria of BMU.  Sharon was a member of the Groton Methodist Church and the Red Hat Society.  She enjoyed camping, quilting, playing cards, and going to a lot of dances.  Sharon's biggest enjoyment was attending her grandchildren's functions and sporting events, and taking care of her family. She loved all of the holidays and would decorate her home accordingly to each one.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Newell Frost and "Bud" Nutbrown.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Norman J. Bailey of Groton, VT; two daughters, Lisa Murtagh and husband Alvin of Groton and Lynn Farquharson and husband Corey of South Ryegate, VT; five grandchildren, Brandy and Chris Pelow, Amanda Murtagh and fiancé Kevin Defosse, Chelsea Farquharson, Ryan Farquharson, and Evan Farquharson; a sister, Mildred Ashford of Groton; a brother, Earl Frost and wife Barbara of Monroe, NH; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Calling hour will be on Monday, January 30, from 6 to 8 PM at the Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, NH.

A funeral service will be on Tuesday, January 31, at 11 AM at the Groton Methodist Church, Groton, VT with Pastor Candace Ricker officiating.

Burial will held in the spring at the convenience of the family in the Groton Village Cemetery.
