Wells River, VT Sheridan N. Skidmore, 76, Golf Links Road, died February 24, 2008, at his residence. He was born in Portsmouth, NH, May 16, 1931, the son of Harry and Mary (Dwyer) Skidmore. He was a Corporal in the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. He worked for 28 years from 1964-1992 as a foreman for Factory Mutual Insurance Company in Rhode Island. Before moving to Vermont in 2001, he had lived in Connecticut for 30 years. He enjoyed turkey and deer hunting, motorcycle riding and was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. He also enjoyed time spent with his family. Survivors include a daughter, Colleen Page and husband Tim of South Ryegate, VT; a son, Michael Skidmore and wife Brenda of Dayville, CT; five grandchildren; one great grandson; a sister, Joann Griffin of Dayville, CT; and one niece and two nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Kathleen E. Skidmore in 1959. Calling hours will be on Wednesday, February 27, from 6:30 to 8 PM at Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, NH. The funeral service will be on Thursday, February 28, at 2 PM at Ricker Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. M. Catherine Cook, officiating. Burial will at Riverside Cemetery in New Castle, NH in the spring.
