Pike, NH – Shirley Mae (Pettis) Grimes, 88, passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2023. She was the daughter of Doris (Miller) and Freebon Pettis, born on the 14th of September 1935, in Thetford Center, VT.

Shirley was a graduate of Lisbon High School. She married William Roy Grimes, Jr., on September 27, 1953. They were blessed with two children, William Grimes, III, and Pamela (Grimes) Badeau. She was a member of the Bethany Congregational Church and did volunteer work with the Pike Ladies Aid.

She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, William Grimes, Jr., on May 9, 2011; her parents, Doris and Freebon Pettis; her siblings, Ernest Pettis and Beverly Butson; and her son-in-law, Bernard Badeau.

She will be remembered by her children, William R. Grimes, III and his wife Lory, and Pamela Badeau; four grandchildren, Eric Badeau, Reneè Badeau, Jessie Matheis, and Jeanne Grimes; four great-grandchildren, Gabriella and Emma Matheis, and Mary and Elizabeth Badeau; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a committal in the spring on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 10 AM at East Haverhill Cemetery with Jo Anne Jaworski as celebrant.
