Shirley A. Lang, 77, Piermont, died at Jack Byrne Palliative Care Center on Friday January 3, 2025, after a period of failing health. She was born in Hingham, MA on March 21, 1947, to Warren and Meda (Crawford) Lincoln. She attended Hingham public schools, graduating from Hingham High School with the class of 1965. She enrolled at Plymouth State College where she met Robert Lang. She graduated in 1969 with a BE. Shirley married Robert Lang on July 8, 1972, at the South Shore Baptist Church in Hingham, MA.
Shirley found work as a PE teacher in Fall River, MA and later a taught social studies at Littleton High School when the couple moved to NH. Shirley went to work in patient placement in 1975 at the Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital in Hanover, retiring in 2023 from Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.
Shirley was an avid reader. She enjoyed watching the birds and tending to her flower gardens, but, more than all else, she enjoyed time with family. She made sure her sons and grandchildren were able to spend summers on Newfound Lake, as she had as a child, and loved Christmas time with her family.
Shirley is predeceased by her parents and two brothers, Donald and Robert Lincoln. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Robert Lang; two sons, Timothy Lang of Concord, NH, and Jonathan Lang and his wife Leah of Springfield, VT; four grandchildren, Alexis, Dominick, Sadie, and Nolan; two brothers, Wendall Lincoln and his wife Joan of Greenland, NH, and Alan Lincoln of The Villages, FL; a sister-in-law Betsy Lincoln, of The Villages; an many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
Services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make donations in memory of Shirley to the Jack Byrne Center at https://dhmcalumdev.hitchcock.org/giving/jack-byrne-center
