Franconia, NH- Shirley Joan Mathews, 86, formerly of North Haverhill, NH died on Friday, July 13, 2018, at the Lafayette Center, Franconia, NH.

Shirley was born in Holden, MA on August 13, 1931, to Walter and Lottie Jean (Henderson) Richardson.  She worked as a secretary for the administrator of the Glencliff Home for fifteen years.

She liked music, especially playing the piano and singing.  Shirley also enjoyed horses and oil painting.  In her spare time, she was a reader of romance novels.  She was an excellent cook.  Mostly, she cherished time with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Lynette Vincent and son, Scott Mathews and wife Michelle both of North Haverhill; seven grandchildren, Rebecca Daniels, Kiri Chaplin, Samuel Mathews and Mickayla Mathews, Keith Brick, Jr., Zachary Brick, and Kylee Mitchell; and two great grandchildren, Caydance Chaplin and Peyton Daniels.

There will be no calling hours.

A graveside service will be on Friday, July 20th at 1 PM in Ladd Street Cemetery, Haverhill, NH.
