North Haverhill, NH Shirley May McKean, 95, formerly of Airport Road, died May 23, 2012 at the Lafayette Center, Franconia, NH. She was born in Woodstock, NH, December 13, 1916, to Leigh and Mary O. (Smith) Avery. Shirley was a graduated from the Woodstock High School and the Plymouth Normal School. She taught elementary school and later was a dietary aid and coordinator of volunteers at Grafton County Nursing Home. She married Roland G. McKean on December 22, 1945. Shirley was a life member of the VFW Auxiliary Post #5245 in North Haverhill. She belonged to the North Haverhill United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women s Club for many years, and was the assistant manager for the Dean Memorial Airport in North Haverhill. She was predeceased by her husband, Roland McKean on September 26, 1997; and a daughter, Beverly Morton-Manyk on April 15, 1988. She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Woods of Bath, NH; four grandchildren, Daryl Manyk, Michael Manyk, Daniel Woods and Deborah Zambon; six great grandchildren, Tyler Zambon, Ryan Zambon, Brian Zambon, Kayla Woods, Josh Woods, and Mitchell Manyk. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be on Thursday, May 31, at 1 PM at the North Haverhill United Methodist Church, 2900 Dartmouth College Highway, North Haverhill, NH with Pastor Susan Ellery officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Center Haverhill Cemetery.
